I give my fellow Americans the low-down on how Brits really view the royal wedding.

I’ve thought about the wedding only sporadically. I am however impressed by the amount of tv coverage and the number of related tv shows (a Royal Wedding version of Come Dine With Me?). I suppose there is an audience for it, but I bet it’s a smaller one than they hoped for.
My husband is pretty uninterested, and only slightly amused at my jokes about needing to buy a hat. He says he’s happy to watch the highlights but indifferent. I know no one except you who is making any wedding-related plans and very few people even discussing it.
I’m pretty uninterested as well. I think William is likely to be a decent guy and will do relatively good things with his role. Kate seems pretty dull and somewhat too obviously self-satisfied with her catch. Maybe that’s wrong, but it’s the impression I get paying not too much attention.
W&K may be genuinely annoyed that they need to have all the pomp and circumstance, which may be a reason some of the greater population care less about it all?
Have to admit I wasn’t particularly interested in the royal wedding at all, but suddenly about three days before the event, for no explanable reason, I found myself really looking forward to the day. In the end I watched every minute of it, and the repeat, and loved it, and many on twitter seemed to as well. There was a great #RoyalWedding buzz.
It was a day that brought the nation together and I think if you asked people today what they thought about the royal wedding you’d get a very different answer to a week ago.
