My review of Ski Alta Badia in the Times

I have a new article up on the Times travel section (subscription required) about a fabulous press trip I took to Alta Badia and Val Gardena. Yes, there was good skiing (it’s in northern Italy) but also fabulous food on the mountain at huts called rifugios that serve dishes created by the area’s Michelin-starred chefs.

I’ve also discovered since leaving that the very chic and groovy accommodation we stayed at, Lagacio, is particularly well-suited to families, not least of all because each room has its own kitchen. The last two images show a detail of the breakfast room at Lagacio and the sitting area in my room. The drink pictured is a spritz, made with Aperol, prosecco and sparkling water and is gorge. Alta Badia also features the only horse-drawn sleigh ski lift I’ve ever been on. Read the story to learn more!
