Recently we did that rare thing for parents, we spent a weekend away just the two us. We went to Bath and stayed in the lovely Bath Mill Lodge Retreat, self-catering accommodation situated in a lovely little landscaped campus, just minutes by car from the city centre.
We had breakfast and shopped at a fantastic farm shop nearby, hopped into city centre for sightseeing and dinner, then relaxed on our sofa with a cup of tea.
Take a look at one of the Norland Suites, where we stayed. You can read my full review, with pictures and highlights of the accommodation, here.

I rather love that bathroom! Looks lovely- I can but dream of weekends away with my husband… at the moment we’re taking it in turns. Bath is gorgeous too, I haven’t been for a while but as well as the baths, I remember lots of quirky shops by the bridge and on back streets.
Bath really is lovely. You can go uptown (with top-notch restaurants and galleries) or downtown (with funky eateries, bars and student vibe). Once you are doing the couples thing again you should give Bath Mill Lodge Retreat a whirl!
