Half the fun of travel is planning. That means that checking out the pictures from my favourite family travel Instagrammers is not only fun and inspiring, but also I can self-righteously call it things like “research” and “work” rather than “drooling over this family hotel I just saw in Cyprus”.
There are so many great folks to find on Instagram, but the sheer number can be overwhelming. To make things easier, I’ve put together this list of 20 family travel Instagramers you should be following now. (In fact, make that 21 — I’d love for you to follow my feed @JHowze, which focuses on family travel with flair as well as those occasional adults-only trip.)
1. We Blog Travel
Amanda, the Tall Fella and their two girls (9 and 16) share images of their family adventures both close to home and further afield, everything from freak storms in Orlando to Cornwall to Croatia. I like the variety of food, scenic views, and quirky attractions. Her blog is written with real heart as well as the love of travel.
2. Wandermust Family
Leona, her husband and daughter love adventure and luxury travel, which is the focus of her blog. Her IG grid is full of family travel inspiration from hiking the Great Wall of China to enjoying luxury in the Middle East with everything in between from their recent Round the World Trip! (Don’t be too jealous.) In addition to all the gorgeous shots in exotic locations, she takes some arresting shots, such as this underwater shot of her daughter in a pool. Their enthusiasm for far-flung luxury travel is infectious!
3. Suitcases and Sandcastles
I know personally that Clare is fab to travel with, from a BritMums press trip we were on together a few years back. She loves telling stories with pictures of beautiful places. Check out her blog and her grid and you’ll see a delight of colour and family travel inspiration from Greek islands to UK beaches, European city breaks to fun cultural finds. I think she’s slightly obsessed with boats too based on the prevalance of bright crafts bobbing on cerulean water.
4. Monkey and Mouse (@JennySeaves)
The strapline for the Monkey and Mouse blog is “Our colourful life” and you can see it all on her Instagram grid. Jenny loves to feature the best of Scotland with her home-educated, curly haired, 7- and 5-year-old. When they leave Scotland, they choosing several different countries to visit around the world every year.
5. Globetotting
She makes it chic and cool travel look so easy on her Globetotting blog and in her feed. Katja, her three children (3, 8 and 11) and her Instagram-shy husband have returned to the UK after nearly 12 years living abroad (Australia, India and Mexico). She’s just as likely to feature trips from far-flung lands as days out in London and is a believer that parents can – and should! – take their kids everywhere.
6. Flying with a Baby
Carrie is a family travel expert with a difference — she spent years working as a flight attendant! Her monster blog Flying with a Baby has fantastic tips on travelling with kids as well as gorgeous in-the-know inspiration.
7. Minitravellers
How does one person travel this much? Follow her and read her blog and you’ll get to know her adorable children as much as you get to know her and follow her adventures, which range from days out in the UK, to camping, to 5-star luxury villas to African family travel.
8. Travel Loving Family
Lisa from Travel Loving Family used to work in the cruise industry and her experience shows in her pictures — she definitely has an eye for stunning locations around the world. I love how personal her feed is, often featuring herself, her children and her husband — she shows *this* is what a family holiday really looks like.
9. PictureTakerMemoryMaker
Chloe, who blogs at Picture-Taker Memory-Maker is passionate about showing her girls (11, 10 and 8) the world. She loves documenting their adventures on camera as they travel as a family — the chaos, the calm and all the moments in between. I love the pastoral images taken out in nature in particular — they immediately give me a sense of calm. She captures the things that we want from travel with our children: smiles, hugs and cuddles.
10. Have Kids Can Travel
Laura and her photographer husband document their family adventures across the UK & Europe in Have Kids Can Travel. She has 3 teens and an almost-teen so I can really relate to her travel (as well as emotional) “journeys” — which is the only word you can use to describe travel with teens. You’ll find plenty of outdoor action, big skies and as many mountains as they can walk up.

11. Mummytravels
Cathy, who blogs at Mummytravels, loves beaches around the world — she and her daughter love to chase blue skies around the world. It makes her feed gorgeous from top to bottom. From cities to countryside to coast, her feed is full of bright colours and travel inspiration.
12. Dais Like These
Daisy has three kids and her IG feed is full of them enjoying everything from a local day out to a trip of a lifetime, and everything in between. Throw in a pretty destination shot or two, and you have a whole host of ideas for your next trip, big or small. Check out Daisy’s blog, Dais Like These.
13. Travelynn Family
It’s never too early for adventure with Travelynn Family. Jenny and her family aim to push the envelope with family travel and dispel the myth that adventure needs to wait until the kids are older (her boys are aged 3 and 4). On her grid find inspiration from their epic African roadtrip, adventures through Asia (particuarly India), with a bit of Peak District (their new home) for good measure.
14. A Modern Mother
How could I do a list like this and leave off my BritMums co-founder Susanna? Susanna travels a lot with her three girls and always has something exciting, fun and insightful to say about the places she visits and how to make the most of them. A don’t-miss!
15. Nell Heshram of Pigeon Pair and Me
Nell, who blogs at Pigeon Pair and Me, has an eye for the scenic and beautiful. She prefers landscapes to family snaps, but you might just catch the occasional picture of her eight- and six-year old sneaking into her feed.
16. Tin Box Traveller
I remember the first time I met Claire from Tin Box Traveller, her passion for travel and writing about it was apparent. She fills her grid with moments captured during her travels and family adventures across the UK and Europe. There’s also a good helping of fun at home in gorgeous Devon in the South West of England. The smiles of her two daughters, aged five and three feature a lot, but Claire is also partial to an epic view.
17. My Travel Monkey
Ting and her travel monkeys go on adventures at home and abroad. There’s a fab mix of scenery and engaging family shots. If you’re looking for family travel inspiration then there’s plenty here with loads of action.
18. One Tiny Leap
The first time I saw Maria’s Instagram feed I thought to myself, I have to meet this woman! Her pictures are high impactful, full of bright saturated colours and natural moments with family. And if you ever need any advice on Lisbon she is the gal to go to above all others.
19. Charly Dove at Podtravels
Charly is one of those bloggers, Instagramers and photographers who are dedicated to producing novel, interesting and breathtaking shots. She shares overseas travels and UK adventures with her 7-year-old daughter and husband. Always with a camera in hand, her feed focuses on places and people with discovery, exploration and adventure at the heart.
20. Mostly Chloe
Chloe, who blogs at Sorry About the Mess, features family travel with her 3 boys aged 7 and under. Her forte is her visually engaging travel content that captures why we treasure family holidays so much: it’s those the special moments and the memory making. What I like about her visual signature is almost formal composition along with the desaturated but still eye-catching colours.
