I’m taking over Hertz’s Instagram account! #ad

And there’s no place quite like Texas to take a Great American Road Trip — the highways are wide, the landscape is striking, the cities and food and people distinct in a way that brings to life the experience in unforgettable ways. (Of course, as a native Texan, now transplanted to London, I’m a little biased.)

That’s why I’m thrilled to be working with Hertz UK, highlighting the Hertz Road Trip Planner tool, which has routes sketched out across the country. This tool is fab — it gives itineraries for great places to stop while still allowing loads for you to discover on your own.

I’m going to be driving part of the Deep in the Heart of Texas route with my husband and two teens. Every summer we come to Texas and drive around, exploring and seeing family and friends. This time we’re going to be hitting old favourites, including Houston and Fort Worth, and exploring some new stops as well.

Along the way, we’re going to show you great food, great views and great family times. I want to hear what you think along the way.

Go Deep in the Heart of Texas with me!

This sounds so fun. You have to stop at the first western wear store and buy yourself a real cowboy hat. Maybe cowboy boots too. You can’t be a real Texan without this.

Oh of course. Everything is better with hats and boots!
