MeTV: Jenography on Figaro Social Media panel

TweetThe week before last I appeared on a panel at a social media conference organised by Figaro, along with Paul Fox from XBox, Carrie Longton from Mumsnet, and Dan Heale who works with our friends over at Digital Outlook. We talked about how families use social media and what works for companies who reach out to those families. It was a really interesting discussion with loads of time for questions from the floor. One person dared to suggest that blogging is over (ho ho, was my – and the general – response). Come see me speak at Women Like Us event, 31 Mar

Tweet It’s hard starting and running your own business. When I started CyberMummy with my two partners, I didn’t even know all I didn’t know, which was probably a good thing. Still, I wish I had known more women starting businesses to absorb their wisdom and learn from their mistakes. I certainly don’t know it all now but I’m delighted to be taking part in a special event to encourage and motivate women in business today. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8th), The Busworks are collaborating with The Pleasance Theatre and Islington Chamber of Commerce are host a panel discussion and networking event later this month. On March 31 the event will feature five speakers from various business backgrounds talking about their experiences, followed by a Q&A/debate. I’m honoured to be on the panel along with Gillian Harwood, winner of the TSB “Women Mean Business” Award in 1988 and director of The Busworks, and my friend Claire Fox, founder of the Institute of Ideas and the Battle of Ideas, regular Question Time panel member and overall very cool person. It’s happening in Islington, from 6:30 to 9:30 and there will be plenty of time before and after for networking with some amazing women as well as complimentary food and drink. It promises to be a great evening so come along and join in. Book by 18 March – quoting “Jenography” – and you get an special price of £8. After that, it’s £10.
