The #HalfTermFood Linky Challenge

green peppercornsOver at BritMums, we’re running a fun and easy #HalfTermFood Linky Challenge – you list the items in a favourite quick and easy family meal including an Aunt Bessie’s item. No need to list recipes, just the dishes that are part of the meal, and you could win 1 of 5 £200 Tesco vouchers!

As co-founder of BritMums, I can’t actually enter, but dreaming up meal plans is my favourite part of cooking. So here’s one of my top 5 mid-week tasty but indulgent family meals, made all the quicker and easier with the inclusion of Aunt Bessie’s perfectly mashed carrot and swede.

* Beef with green peppercorn sauce (peppercorns sauteed with brandy, with a splash of cream)

* Broccoli, steamed with a squeeze of lemon

* Aunt Bessie’s carrot and swede mash (replacing the usual potato mash)

* Peas

This is one of our “special” meals, for when we feel like celebrating a good day or cheering ourselves up. The whole thing comes together in half an hour. Perfect!

    Liking the splash of brandy and also prefer carrot and swede mash from Aunt Bessie’s to ordinary mash. Big fan of anything with peppercorns too.
